Chehalem Mountains AVA

This vintage is our inaugural Pinot Noir from the Chehalem Mountains AVA in the Willamette Valley. With high elevation, diverse soils and unique topography, the Chehalem Mountains are the source of many famous Oregon wines. With more of a red
fruit expression, many drinkers will taste notes of dark cherry and cranberry. This round, supple wine can stand alone or pairs well with lean pork and beef.

Farming and the 2020 Growing Season

The 2020 growing season continued a multi-year trend of producing lower than average yields. This resulted in more intense flavors from the grapes. With the lower yields, we sourced additional grapes from the Chehalem Mountains AVA with the original idea of blending these with our Eola-Amity Hills fruit to create a classic Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. But once we tasted these separately, we decided it would be a crime to mask the elegance in this wine. The fruit from the Aryln and Quailhurst vineyard creates a classic Oregon Pinot Noir all on its own!
